KYSHRM continues to align to the focus areas from our extensive Strategic Planning effort in early 2018. As part of SHRM, the largest HR organization in the world, our efforts at the state and local level focus on supporting HR initiatives and the development of HR professionals at all levels. These efforts, along with our great annual events, Best Places to Work in Kentucky and the Kentucky SHRM Conference, are foundational to HR professionals in every part of the state. This year’s Kentucky SHRM Conference will be better than ever and we look forward to seeing many of you at the largest HR conference in the state.

If you are not currently volunteering for or attending a local chapter meeting, I strongly encourage you to do so. Each of us has different professional development needs and state and local SHRM volunteers get exposure to a network of other knowledgeable members and loads of useful information from conference and chapter speakers.

Many of you may have started your HR career in a small company with no HR structure. SHRM offers the perfect connection point to others with similar challenges and experienced professionals that can help you grow. Human Resource Professionals play a vital role for companies, even more pronounced now as many areas of the state struggle with low unemployment rates and skill and talent shortages. Use SHRM as a resource to give you the skills to be successful in your career!
