During the past six months, Kentucky SHRM State Council has undergone an extensive Strategic Planning initiative. This process has led to the development of our Vision, Mission and Goals for 2018 and beyond. Several significant changes have been adopted from the planning and are currently being set in motion.
First, the Council has reorganized the chapter regions, going from three to one. This is important, because it provides better geographic alignment.
Second, the Council’s desire to better support the chapters led to the decision to forgo the traditional December Kentucky Leadership Conference in 2018 in place of three Regional Conferences. Our hope is that these regional conferences will lead to greater participation by chapters at the state level AND provide smaller, more intimate opportunities for chapter members to connect.
The above changes, along with a list of others will remain the focus of this council for the rest of 2018 and into 2019. Additionally, an ad hoc committee has been formed to determine our next statewide initiative in light of the success of our Bridging the Talent Gap project.
This is an exciting time to be involved with the KY SHRM State Council or local chapter in Kentucky. I personally look forward to a great rest of 2018!
