Hi all! My name is Laurie McIntosh and I’m excited to be your new Field Services Director, supporting Kentucky, Tennessee, North Carolina, West Virginia and Virginia. In my role, I travel extensively throughout this territory to promote and create awareness of the value of SHRM membership to HR professionals and organizations and supporting state councils and chapters. In April, I attended the KYSHRM State Council meeting in Lexington and was very impressed by the great work that is being done by KYSHRM and the chapters in the state.
Here’s a little about me: I have worked for SHRM for 10 years beginning my career in Iowa where I worked from my home and traveled throughout my assigned Midwest territory as a Field Services Director. Seven years ago I moved to SHRM headquarters in Alexandria, VA as Director Membership focusing on strategic initiatives for the organization. Now I’m glad to be back in the Field Services Director role to work directly with you, the member.
Prior to joining SHRM, I was an active SHRM volunteer leader at both the chapter and state level in Nebraska. I worked in several industries including banking, healthcare and consumer packaged goods. I received my Master’s degree in HRM from Capella University and hold the SHRM-SCP and CAE credentials. My husband, Craig and I are now empty-nesters as our son, Sean, graduated from George Mason University last December and is now working for a Senator on Capitol Hill. We couldn’t be prouder. We have two cats, Hunter and Chase, that are more work than they are worth (according to my husband). We enjoy the Virginia area and acting as tour guides when our family vacations here. I love to paint and do other craft projects in my spare time.
If you are attending SHRM18, please stop by the SHRM booth and say hi. If you can’t make SHRM18, I’ll be at the KYSHRM State Conference in August and would love to meet you then. Please connect with me via Twitter @SHRMLaurie and Linkedin Laurie McIntosh, SHRM-SCP or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
