The SHRM Annual Conference in Chicago was another banner year for SHRM, its members, and the Human Resource Profession. Aside from being the most attended SHRM Conference ever (approximately 22,000 in attendance), it was full of world renowned speakers like NY Times Best-selling Author, Adam Grant, informative breakout sessions, top flight SHRM offerings such as the Certification Lounge and SHRM Bookstore, and near flawless execution by the SHRM team and volunteers.
Kentucky was also a visible part of SHRM events. Long-time KYSHRM Council Member, Past-Chair, and current KYSHRM Foundation Director, Jeff Nally is now a member of the SHRM Foundation Board. Several KYSHRM Council members attended the SHRM Foundation Luncheon and sat with Jeff, enjoying an opportunity to reflect on 2017 accomplishments. Due to Jeff’s leadership, along with many other volunteers hard work, KYSHRM was recognized as the #2 state council in giving for 2017. Additionally, two chapters finished in the top 25 chapters in the nation: Louisville SHRM at #3 and Bluegrass SHRM at #11. Congrats to all!
Finally, Kentucky had the distinct honor of winning the lip sync battle thanks to the talents of Patricia Williams, Tiffany Cardwell, and Jeff Nally! If you have never been to a SHRM Annual Conference, it is not only a great opportunity to learn, but also to network, get recertification credit, check out what’s new in HR, connect to HR tracks specific to your interest/need, check out the myriad of exhibitors, and also have a good time. Better yet, now is the time to make that decision to register for the 2019 SHRM Annual Conference in Las Vegas at the best possible rate. Hope to see you there!
