President's Message

Hi Everyone – I am Lynn Ingmire, the 2016-2017 Chair of the Kentucky State Council. I am so excited to introduce the inaugural edition of KY SHRM Newsletter. We have been, and will continue to, provide our semi-annual KY SHRM magazine.

Organizational culture can be a powerful recruiting and retention tool, but left to languish, or worse, allowing toxic values to become integrated into a culture can have disastrous consequences.

Worksites are now recognized as a key venue for health improvement at a local, state, and national level. An estimated 75% of the population in the state can be reached and impacted directly through worksite wellness programs.

Compassion in the Workplace

In November 2011, Mayor Greg Fischer announced a resolution adopting a Charter for Compassion, declaring Louisville, Kentucky, as a participant in a 10-year campaign for compassionate cities.
